Kyocera's Zio M6000 to be carried on Cricket

Kyocera's Zio M6000 to be carried on Cricket

It looks like Cricket Wireless will carry Kyocera's latest smartphone in a long time. BoyGeniusReport wrote that they possess information showing a lineup of devices, details, prices, and launch dates.

As you can see for yourself in the image above, the MSRP is running at $299.99 US. If you read my earlier article, rumors at the time were guessing a price in the $200 US range, but it looks like that won't be happening (at least not now).  Comments on Phandroid seem to indicate that Cricket does not do contracts, so don't expect it to get much cheaper. Expect it in July 2010.

This is Cricket's first Android phone, and while they are a small company compared to Verizon and AT&T, I anticipate to see more small carriers with Android devices in the near future.
