Delete paired Bluetooth device?

Samsung Galaxy J7, Verizon. I need to delete an item from my paired list, not just unpair it but delete it altogether. I don't see an option to do this. I have a defective paired device and I'm replacing it with a new one (same model). When I try to pair it I get an "unable to pair" message. I believe it is because the device's manual says that once paired it will have the same name as the old unit seeing as it is the same model. I assume that the phone cannot pair it because a device with the same name is already paired. How can I delete the original or is there another solution?

Thanks in advance, Bob

Do you need something like 'forget network' for WLAN?

I don't know about Galaxy J7, but my phone Nokia 6.1 Plus, has the option to forget the Previously Connected devices. I guess it's the feature with Android 10.
